Uzbekistan and South Korea agree to expand cooperation
Uzbekistan and South Korea are divided by a long distance. Despite this, these countries are bond with strong friendship ties. In 2006, Tashkent and Seoul signed a Joint declaration on strategic partnership. The two states regularly hold high-level meetings, which reflects the intensive development of bilateral relations.

Cotton Production forecast on 2009/2010 season
In 2009/10 season world production decrease on 1 %, to 23.1 million tons is expected. Reduction of the areas under a cotton will be partially counterbalanced by productivity increase. In the Northern hemisphere countries weather conditions in a current season were as a whole more favorable, than in 2008/09. However in many regions harvesting has begun with delay, because of rainy weather in September. Because of a moisture and a cold quality of a cotton has suffered.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea on 10-12 February on the invitation of the President of this country Lee Myung-Bak.

A growth of textile production
Under forecasts ICAC, in 2010/11 season is expected a growth of manufacture and consumption of textile production, caused, accordingly, according to the world prices for cotton, stabilization of an economic situation and increase in incomes of the population.
